Audi has launched three new cars in India with price of new models
A5 Sportback: Rs 54.02 lakh (ex-showroom)
A5 Cabriolet: Rs 67.51 lakh (ex-showroom)
S5 Sportback: Rs 70.6 lakh (ex-showroom)
The A5 Sportback and Cabriolet are both powered by the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel mill that produces 190hp and 400Nm of peak torque. Both body styles also get the same seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, thought the Sportback only comes with front-wheel-drive while the Cabriolet gets Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Not similar the previous-gen S5 sold in India that came with a supercharged engine, the new range-topping S5 Sportback gets a 3.0-litre, turbo-petrol, V6 motor putting out 354hp and 500Nm of twisting force, mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. The 2.0-litre diesel and the 3.0-litre petrol motors, both get an engine start-stop system as standard.
The design of the new A5 range including the S5 Sportback has been completely overhauled. The Sportback models feature a coupe-like roofline. The S5 gets a subtle bodykit with S5 badges on the front fenders, silver ORVM housings and quad-exhaust tips. The A5 range now features a flatter and wider grille flanked by LED headlights. It also gets LED tail lights with dynamic indicators. The wave-pattern shoulder line and pronounced wheel arches are evident in profile. The A5 Sportback and S5 Sportback get a panoramic sunroof. The fabric top of the Cabriolet can be folded away in 15 seconds. The roof can be raised in 18 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h. All three cars ride on 18-inch cast-aluminium 5-spoke alloy wheels.
