Australian based Carberry Motorcycle With 1000 cc Royal Enfield Engine Launched in India at priced Rs 7.35 Lakh. The 1000 cc V-Twin Carberry motorcycle is powered by two 500 cc UCE engine blocks from Royal Enfield as opposed to the original Carberry Enfield which utilised two of the older cast-iron engine blocks. The 55-degree V-Twin runs a dual carburetor setup. However, a fuel-injected version that will be BS-IV compliant is also under development in India. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox with a seven-plate clutch and high-strength primary chain. It also gets a heavy duty starter, while the lifters and oil pump run in their own housing that can protect the engine from wear and damage. The new 1,000cc Carberry V-Twin produces about 53hp and 82Nm of peak torque.
The engine and motorcycle have been developed by Paul Carberry, who had founded the brand in Australia. He had been building Enfield-based custom twins in Australia until 2011. The brand was revived and brought to India in 2016 by Bhatia through Dream Engines Manufacturers (DEM).
Carberry Motorcycles India founder Jaspreet Singh Bhatia had said the motorcycle will feature a BS IV-compliant electronic fuel injection system as well as ABS. While the specifications have not been revealed yet, Carberry Motorcycles has stated on its social media page that the first batch of the Double Barrel 1000 will consist of 29 motorcycles, with a booking amount of Rs 1 lakh. Delivery of the Carberry Double Barrel 1000 could take between 5 and 10 months.
