Ducati both variants SuperSport to be Launched in India on 22-September 2017


Ducati declared that SuperSport will be launched in India on 22 September 2017. The motorcycle will be available in two variants – SuperSport and SuperSport S. Both trims will be launched in same day. The booking for tha same have begun started accepting pre-booking across all dealerships in the India.

The SuperSport is powered by a 937cc, L-twin cylinder, and liquid-cooled engine with 4-valves per cylinder. The motor puts out 109 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 93 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The SuperSport S variant gets the same engine in the same state of tune but it gets more features – like a quick-shifter with auto-blipper for easier gear shifts.

The Ducati Supersport gets fully adjustable 43mm Marzocchi upside-down forks at the front and an adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear (The bikes suspension serves a dual purpose: according to the motor cycle’s handling and braking, and providing safety and comfort by keeping the motor cycle’s passengers comfortably isolated from road noise, bumps and vibrations). The sportierDucati Supersport S gets 48mm Ohlins upside-down forks with adjustable Ohlins monoshock at the back. Both bikes get an aluminium single-sided swingarm.

Braking syatem at the front for both the Supersport siblings comes from 320mm twin discs. The rear brake is a single 245mm disc operated by a 2-piston caliper. ABS is standard on both the variants, traction control and an anti-theft system as standard along with three riding modes. The SuperSport S gets Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) system for clutchless gear changes and a seat cover as standard.

Both variants of SuperSport and SuperSport S ride on 17-inch rims shod with 120/70 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres at the front and rear respectively.

The Motor cycle of SuperSport’s designing is inspired by the Panigale, with a similar front cowl with its twin-LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights. It has a wheelbase of 1,478 mm and a seat height of 810 mm. The bike has a kerb weight of 210 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 16 litres.
