Hyundai has launched in India, four-wheel-drive (4WD) version of its Tucson SUV at Rs 25.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The New Tucson 4WD is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 182bhp at 4,000rpm & 400Nm of torque between 1,750 ~ 2,750rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels via an on-demand four-wheel drive system. The 4WD system shifts between front-wheel drive & four-wheel drive modes on the fly whenever it detects that the front wheels are not providing enough traction. This system helps save fuel but drivers can 4WD lock mode manually, resulting in 50:50 distribution of torque between the front and rear wheels.
This Advanced Traction Cornering Control (ATCC) system Hyundai has fitted in New Tucson, which transfers the maximum amount of torque to the specific wheel having the most amount of grip.
The Hyundai also providing other features in the SUV, the Tucson AT GL trims in both petrol and diesel have been reinforced with safety features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Down Hill Brake Control (DBC) & Brake Assist enhancing the safety and driving performance.
