Ducati has launched the XDiavel and XDiavel S in India at Rs. 15.87 lakh and Rs. 18.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the fifth Ducati model to be launched in India in 2016, after the 959 Panigale, Multistrada 1200S, Multistrada Pikes Peak, and Multistrada 1200 Enduro.
The XDiavel comes equipped with an all-new frame; the engine is now a stressed element of the chassis. Power comes from the Euro-IV compliant, Testastretta 1262cc, L-twin engine that produces 156hp of peak power and 128.9Nm of torque. The engine’s stroke has been increased by 3.6mm from the standard Diavel to enhance torque delivery, resulting in a 64cc hike in displacement as well. The motor is paired to a six-speed gearbox and gets three riding modes – Sport (156hp), Touring (156hp) and Urban (100hp).
The Ducati XDiavel made its global debut at the 2015 EICMA motorcycle show. It is built on an all-new frame, where the engine block is a stressed member of the chassis. The exposed trellis frame gives it a raw and naked appearance. The XDiavel gets a full LED headlight, while the XDiavel S adds an inverted U-shaped DRL. It gets a low-slung cruiser look, thanks to the lower seat height, front set foot pegs, and a minimalist tail. The XDiavel also comes with different control units to regulate individual electronic packages of the motorcycle. Up from the standard Diavel, it also has an infotainment system, and is the first bike from Ducati to come with a belt-drive instead of a chain. It also comes with Ducati’s Multimedia System that lets riders connect their smartphones to the bike via Bluetooth.
The Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S are now available at the company’s dealerships in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru.
