Indian Motorcycles has launched the Springfield in India at a price of Rs. 31.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurgaon). The bookings for the all-new Indian Springfield are already accepted at all the company authorized dealerships, while it would be available in the classic Thunder Black color. It can be immediately converted into a cruiser by releasing the windshield and removing the saddlebags. The Springfield can also be transformed into a touring model by ordering the accessories available with Indian Motorcycles.
The Springfield is powered by a Thunder Stroke 1,811 cc engine that produces 73 BHP and 139 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike’s suspension setup includes a telescopic fork at the front and an air adjustable single shock absorber at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 300 mm dual discs with 4 piston caliper at the front and 300 mm single disc with a two-piston caliper at the rear. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is a part of standard equipment.
In addition, leather seat, Anti-lock brakes, tire pressure monitoring, electric cruise control and dual driving lights are on offer with the bike. Underpinning a new chassis and featuring telescopic front forks with an air adjustable rear single shock, it also gets keyless start, tank mounted electronic speedometer with odometer, dual trip meters, digital tachometer, real time clock, and 9 LED Telltale indicators.
The Indian Springfield will be competing against premium tourers like the Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special.
