Maruti Suzuki has launched the updated Ciaz in India with prices starting at Rs. 8.19 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 9.19 lakh for the diesel version.
Powering the Ciaz is a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. This engine replaces the 1.4-litre unit and develops 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm of peak torque. It is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel version is powered by the same 1.3-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine as the outgoing model. It makes 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm and comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This Fiat-sourced diesel engine is expected to be replaced with a new 1.5-litre unit sometime in the future.
The facelift Ciaz is available in 4 trims with 7 colour options – NEXA Blue, Premium Silver, Magma Grey, Dignity Brown, Snow White, Sangria Red and Midnight Black.
The safety features of new Ciaz comes with driver and passenger side airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, speed alert system, seat belt reminders for both driver and passenger as standard. Features like rear view camera, ESP with hill-hold and cruise control are available on select variants.
