Piaggio India has launched a special edition, name of the scooter is called Vespa Red, it is priced at Rs. 87,000 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).
The Red’s 125cc, single-cylinder engine produces 10 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. It is paired to a CVT gearbox.
The company might bring in a 150 cc Vespa RED, should the demand be there. The more powerful 150 cc motor makes about 11 BHP and develops a torque of 11.5 Nm.
The new Vespa RED has been launched in collaboration with (RED), a company that partners with global brands to create awareness and also support the fight against HIV/AIDS. This particular version of the Vespa RED has been launched only in the Indian Auto Bazaar, and every sale of the Vespa RED will generate money to finance Global Fund grants that support the fight to end AIDS in India.
