The Hyundai Dealers has begun accepting bookings for the 2016 Hyundai Elantra in India for a deposit of INR 25,000, which is expected to be launched in the last week of August or the first week of September.
The car has coupe-like styling with a large hexagonal grille, projector headlamps and fog lamps located in boomerang-shaped housings. It is 40 mm longer, 25 mm wider and 30 mm shorter than the model it replaces. The rear gets a new set of tail lamps, and a restyled boot.
The 2016 Elantra will feature a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, automatic climate control, cruise control, rain sensing wipers and start/stop button.
Engine lineup will include a 2.0-liter MPI four-cylinder petrol engine with 149 PS (146.90 hp)/183 Nm of torque and a 1.6-litre four-cylinder CRDi VGT diesel engine that produces 136 PS (134.09 hp) and 306 Nm of torque. Transmission options are reported to be 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes.
